On Friday February 21, 2025 in a National Lacrosse League game between the hometown Vancouver Warriors and the Saskatchewan Rush, a player drew 2 penalty shot opportunities on a single play. The player, Vancouver’s Marcus Klarich, intercepted a pass and proceeded on a breakaway only to be wrapped up and thrown to the turf by Bobby Kidd III, drawing an automatic penalty because Kidd III had illegally substituted into the game during transition and interfered with the play. Because Kid III had wrapped Klarich up while on the floor illegally, during a breakaway, he drew a second automatic penalty. Klarich took both penalty shots and scored one of them, bringing the Warriors within one goal of the Rush at 4-5.
